First Deputy Minister Alexey Vovchenko participated in the first G20 Employment Working Group (EWG) Meeting

First Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Alexey Vovchenko participated in the 1st Employment Working Group meeting during Germany 2017 G-20 Presidency (Berlin, 19-21, l2, 2016).

The priorities of German Presidency are:

  1. Female employment;
  2. Labour Market Integration of Migrants and Refugees;
  3. Sustainable Global Supply Chains;
  4. Future of Work.

During this EWG meeting Mr. Vovchenko made a presentation on the Russian experience within the session “Youth Employment/ Quality Apprenticeship“. The presentation “Apprenticeship System in Russia, Dual Elements“covered the information on education system in Russia, apprenticeship’ legal basis, as well as the apprenticeship based on the dual education.

The key issues discussed during the session included:

  • Labour market situation, challenges and opportunities;
  • Identification of policy actions to improve the quality of female employment - based on concrete examples from G20 countries - and compilation an integrated and coherent set of G20 policy actions for better quality of female employment;
  • Different challenges and opportunities in G20 countries with regard to the labour market integration of legal migrants and recognized refugees, and identification of the concrete policies to address these challenges and to foster inclusive economies and societies;
  • Experiences of G20 countries with the introduction and implementation of dual elements in their national apprenticeship systems.
