“Issues of the pension system development are of critical importance for the close cooperation between the Ministry and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, - said Minister Maxim Topilin. – We would like the Russian pension system to be up to date and meet the OECD requirements”.

“At the end of December last year the RF Government approved the Strategy for Long-Term Development of the RF Pension System, so this is the starting point for improvement of state and non-state pension coverage in Russia”, - noted the Ministry Head. .

Maxim Topilin mentioned another important area of cooperation, which is a search for solutions to legalize labor relations in Russia. “According to our estimates, several millions of employees are formally not in labor relations, - he noted. – Such employees are not protected at all. They do not participate in the generation of the pension fund, funds of medical and social insurance”. When discussing the agenda for the Group of Twenty meeting Maxim Topilin informed that a meeting of the Target Group on Employment will take place in Moscow on February 21-22 and a meeting of Ministers of Labor and Employment, and a joint meeting of Ministers of Labor and Employment with Ministers of Finance will take place in the capital on July 18-19.
