Representatives of the Russian and Italian Ministries of Labor and Social Policies signed a Memorandum of Understanding on social and labor cooperation in the course of enlarged intergovernmental consultations in Trieste on November 26th 2014. The Memorandum was signed by Russian Minister of Labor Maxim Topilin and Italian Minister of Labor and Social Policies Enrico Giovannini.

Topilin said «the Memorandum covers nearly all areas of the ministries’ responsibility: labor legislation, labor markets, social welfare and consolidation of efforts». The priority issues brought up in the Memorandum include official and unofficial employment, job security, measures against poverty, and programs to create a disabled-friendly social environment.

Italy has gained years-long experience in the social and professional integration of people with disability, including rehabilitation programs, Topilin said. «The best programs in this area will be brought to Russia», - he said.
