G20 Labour and Employment ministers discussed the main challenges and opportunities in the labour market, the link between education and employment, the development of qualifications, inequality of incomes and other topics. Also special sessions with the participation of social partners (representatives of trade unions and employers) were held.

The outcome of the meeting was the adoption of G20 Labour and Employment Ministerial Declaration.

On 4 September Minister Maxim Topilin also participated in the Joint Meeting with G20 Finance and Labour Ministers, where the issues of economic growth and employment were discussed.
